While Hyperion Planning is a powerful application, there are cases where utilizing a Custom Essbase application is necessary. Did you know that by purchasing Hyperion Planning, you do not have the licensing to create native Essbase databases. Unless Essbase is specifically purchased, you are not allowed to create an Essbase application that stands alone from Hyperion Planning. This means that you cannot create a stand alone Aggregate Storage Essbase application as well.
