Hyperion Environment Assessment

At many customer sites, Essbase has been implemented a few years back.  The original administrator is long gone and the documentation is less than stellar.  The current administrator is most likely an accountant of financial analyst who has not had the luxury of going to training or has not had the time to fully understand the inner workings of Essbase at the company.  At these companies too much time is spent manually maintaining your Essbase applications.  You'd be surprised how much time can be saved in generating your financials through a few automations.

 

Essbase Database Tuning and Optimization

We have spent a considerable amount of time reviving failed Hyperion Implementations, about 40%.  Essbase is an especially complicated product.  The mere click of a mouse can result in over an hours difference in consolidation time.  I can guarantee your Hyperion Planning project will not be a success if your Essbase is not architect properly.

 

Installation of Environment and Upgrades

For every implementation it is absolutely essential that the environment be is properly installed.  If you need an environment installed, you'll have to book them 2-3 months in advance.  If you find yourself in dire need of an install resource be it a windows environment or a clustered unix environment I have a couple of individuals that can show up in under 2 weeks time.  They've been infrastructure installs for as long as I've been consulting in Hyperion.  

 

Hyperion Resource Sourcing

If you're looking for a short term consultant (part time, 1 day - 6 months) or a full time employee, we can provide you with the needed resource.  If you think you have found the right resource but would like to have someone test their Hyperion expertise, we can interview them for you and let you know the techinical qualifications of this individual.  Once you make the hire it's too late to figure out that you hired a high level manager instead of a worker bee.

 

Hyperion Software Purchase Assistance

We provide a third party assessment as to which components are required for your implementation.  While Hyperion Planning is a powerful application, there are cases where utilizing a Custom Essbase application is necessary.  Did you know that by purchasing Hyperion Planning, you do not have the licensing to create native Essbase databases.  Unless Essbase is specifically purchased, you are not allowed to create an Essbase application that stands alone from Hyperion Planning.  This means that you cannot create a stand alone Aggregate Storage Essbase application as well.

We can also save you significant $$$ and time by ensuring that when your project starts, you are using the best overall solution for ETL, data migration, and reporting.  (some Hyperion Modules sold are never used and other times, required Hyperion components are not purchased).
