In order for the Year to Period spreading functionality to work on a Hyperion Planning web form, you'll need to display the 12 periods, 4 quarters, and the year total member. Even if you don't want quarters to appear, you have no choice if you want the spreading on the periods to function.
If you don't like the quarters, at least you can place them at the right most columns.
Ex:
year total, periods 1-12, qtr1, qtr2, qtr3, qtr4
